Working for Brave I was once again asked to assist in the creation of the Key Visuals for Panasonic’s 2019 OLED Televisions launch campaign.
Fast Cars, explosions, and a man on a mission feature in the second instalment bringing Panasonic’s Hollywood credentials to life for their 2019 range of 4K HDR OLED televisions.
In their latest execution of the strategy to shine a spotlight on the brand’s blockbuster televisions, they assembled a team of Hollywood elite to deliver a heart-racing trailer-style brand film: Roar Uthaug, director of 2018’s Tomb Raider, cinematography from Ben Davis, fresh off his work on Oscar-winning Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Shaun Sipos, star of SYFY’s Krypton and even getting world renowned Company 3 Senior Colourist Stefan Sonnenfeld in on the act.
Diving into a thrilling world of fast cars and tough guys, the spot follows the hero’s mission to retrieve an ‘intelligent processor’, which has been stolen by criminals who are trying to reverse-engineer it for their evil means. Shot in 4k with high-speed cameras, the film showcases Panasonic’s most powerful processor and the new TV’s stunning range through atmospheric scenes of shadowy villains, explosive escape sequences, and fast-paced car chases. Culminating in a dynamic film that emphasised the details in the shadows, brilliant contrast, stunningly accurate colour, and incredible detail Panasonic’s new range of televisions.
Additional behind-the-scenes featurettes and photography, movie poster style print executions and a wealth of digital and social assets were created to support the campaign through-the-line.
My work involved the composition of the key visual from it’s early stages to final approval. This required illustration, retouching and colour grading of the component parts into a piece measuring 30,000 pixels across. I also created all the master artwork files for the campaign as well as retouching the numerous in-screen and behind the scenes images from the shoot.
The finished Key Visual, several metres across at 300dpi.
