Age UK exposes the plight of having no-one to turn to.
Approaching Christmas 2019, I was asked by creative agency Brave to help with their nationwide out-of-home campaign for the charity Age UK. Working with photographer Olly Burns and combining typography from artist Alison Carmichael, I was tasked with creating the retouched imagery and artwork for the entire campaign. Covering traditional 48 sheets through to a wide variety of digital still and animated screens. As well as creating the master assets I would oversee the production and delivery of all artwork.
The three main retouched images are below, all of which required colour grading and cutting out from the backgrounds which they were shot against. Once cutout, I drew vector artwork in Illustrator to create repeating patterns for the wallpaper, added lighting effects to make them look realistic and then used these to fill any dimensions required. This flexibility was vital for the wide variety of sites being considered and helped simplify the production of the artwork.
The typography created by Alison was to be manipulated around each central character, featuring emotive and relatable stories inspired by the older people who come to Age UK for help.
